Moving Image: Experiment
Whats working?
I like how the camera angles move as i move to stand up. and the sudden change in mood and i overlook the camera. i also like how it is a cold day and you are able to see my breath.
Whats not working?
I dont think the fact that when i am overlooking the camera it tilts to become a portrait shot. This was not intended and i think Fabian has to do a better job at remembering what we have learned in class ;)
Whats next?
I think i will use this use of camera angles next to depict the seemingly opposite aspects of our person can interplay between each other on varying degrees and that is what makes a person. Two halfs of the whole.
Moving Image: Research
The genius of Frank Zappa demonstrated in this full length clay motion picture, is utterly unbelievable how crazy he was yet had an IQ of 172!

Moving Image: Application
During working on the class task of assembling walking sequence on Premier, I have come across some new skills while trying out some of the effects that this program has to offer. I was experimenting a lot with colour balances, and contrast/brightness levels to create some nice 'psychedelic' colours, and add something new, to what a lot of what people were essentially creating the same piece with the same background footage. I began to experiment with the distortion settings and see what i could come up with, and i noticed the twist. After a bit of time sussing how to apply it, i thought of a 'great' idea! If i make layers of twists lightly overlapping and covering the full length of the screen but leave a 'window' in the centre where everything is not distorted then i could make a totally different walking scene, with a very nice kaleidoscope effect.
Ill upload the full thing when it a technical hitch is solved.

Moving Image: Experiment
I like the effect the candle light gives the short film, and how the candle is almost exactly in the middle. I also like the smoke of the incense candle spiralling and moving in interesting ways.
Whats not working?
Its pretty short, not a lot going on.
Whats next?
I will get more incense candles and have more smoke trails, and film for longer.
I will also start thinking how i can make a light trail, like you can do with a long exposure rate with a still camera.
Moving Image: Research
This link describes a little bit about what Salvador Dali and Luis Brunel were trying to do, or trying not to do, is put any kind of significant meaning into the film. The Criteria for the shots were as long as it was shocking, and that it had to not be explained why.
The Straight Dope: In Un Chien Andalou, is a real eyeball being sliced?
A very interesting piece of film nonetheless, it makes me think about human nature and the kind of unexplained behavioural aspects to our species, which at times can be very 'surreal' and 'random'?
