Photography Panorama Experiment

Whats working?
i like the colours, gives it a mars like quality, i also like the idea of movement as you look from one side with other, my image appears to be moving as well.
Whats not working?
i dont like my figure(s) in the centre, to me it kind of just looks like a mess.
Whats next?
i will take more care and thought with where i put myself within the scene.

The left hand image is a single colour. The right hand image features under-painting
and an over spray in two colours
.
The work, visible outside Bhana Brothers Fruiters is built tonally from light under-spray colours and darker over lays.

An inventory of a bizarre skin growth, DYSTOPIA, seems to document a pathology. It seems clear that at some level this pathology is not only dermatological, but cultural, commenting, perhaps, on the gradual but waxing loss of identity and the means of communication in a technological environment that promotes anonymity and conformity”. —Adrian W.B. Tool / Alex Grey Fan Art

Tool and Alex Grey fan art, using different features but in the same context as an Alex Grey piece.

What do i see?
I see that this directly relates to the image bellow -the album cover for Mastodons 'The Hunter'- it has a similar subject. i think that is is more interesting the the album cover because it has incorporated elements of a portrait, a disected one at that, with two halfs of the skull on wither side of the bull, and two halfs of the face and enveloped to incorporate the idea of layers beneath our skin and what lies under our soul.

Lens Based Research

Tool's album cover for '10,00 Days' is derived from Alex Grey's huge Artwork 'The Net Of Being', and this particular face is one of those 'Godheads' in The Net Of Being.

'Nala on the Edge'
Using the filter from Photoshop Express, taken on my iPad, filter i used is called Carmine. I aslso boosted up the contrast and made the shadows and highlights stronger.
'Cat Shrine'
Again using the Carmine filter with my Photoshop app. I like how it has picked the shadow to put some splattered red colour in it.
'Everyday Magic Glass'
This is what i see while on the bus everyday, going back and forth from Otara to the North Shore, i have often pondered why does this, spiral of the spectrum of light. I think it is because my sun glasses have a UV protective layer over them, and combined with the bus's glass this must have a splitting affect on the sunlight. Sometimes there are more than one, and each time i see them they are in different places. I find it fascinating and definitely makes the bus ride in more interesting.a
'Silhouette in Bus'
Again using the Photoshop Express App, all i have done to this picture of me on the bus is, boost up the contrast to make my silhouette more prominent, and then i put a pink tint over the top to make it a little more abstract.
'Broken Mirror Portrait'
For this piece i used the Carmine effect on my photoshop express app. I thought it would work well because there is alot of red on my cover of my ipad, but i also like how in the centre of the 'Net of Being' is negative. it makes for an interesting photo!
'Anyone Feel Like Lunch?'
I found this on my way from the bus to class, i put the carmine effect on.

Building Image

A little project i did at the weekend, Alex Grey inspired 'God Self and the Collective Unconscious'.

Whats working?
I like the colours that have been made to stand out by using the photoshop express app. I also like how only half of my face is visible.
Whats no working?
i dont like the fact that the kitchen window is in the background.
Whats next maybe i could take more shots of my face half shown, and still using the colour manipulation software on my ipad to create the colour inbalance.
